SPECIAL NOTICE

Cornell Dining and Retail Services want to assure the Cornell Community that we are paying close attention to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) warnings regarding alfalfa sprouts, pistachio, and peanut products and the recent Salmonella outbreak.

All related alfalfa sprouts, pistachio and peanut products have been pulled from the shelves in Cornell Dining's retail and convenience store outlets, as well as those in our all you care to eat facilities.  These items will remain off the shelf until a definitive finding is made public by the FDA.

Eating Well with Cornell Dining

Cornell Dining

Dining at Cornell is not just a meal -- it's a pleasure! You'll find plenty of variety and convenience with 33 dining locations across campus, including 10 all you care to eat dining rooms. According to none other than the Princeton Review, Cornell ranks in the top fifteen among all colleges and universities in the Unites States for best campus food.

What makes Cornell Dining so special? Our people, for one thing. Nearly half of our Executive Chefs are graduates of the renowned Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Our managers have been recruited from the top performers around the country and bring with them years of experience.

And let's not forget our facilities. From state-of-the-art, like North Star, to the richly textured beauty of an old treasure like Risley, to the tradition-laden Ivy Room, our dining rooms offer almost as much variety as our menu.

Commitment to Sustainability

Cornell Dining is committed to reducing its carbon footprint. Some of our recent actions include:

  • Composting at select Cornell Dining locations, which annually generate more than 1,000,000 pounds of pre- and post-consumer compost material
  • Going "trayless" at select dining locations, which has significantly reduced food waste and water usage
  • Hosting our Annual Fall Harvest Dinner, which provides not only great locally grown food, but also an educational experience for all those who attend
  • Increasing our percentage of locally or regionally grown produce from 12 percent to 20 percent
  • Making available Freshtake Grab-'n'-Go products, which are packaged using biodegradable containers and labels

Cornell Dining offers meal plan options for students, faculty and staff that are designed to provide flexibility, variety, and plenty of healthy, satisfying dining options. You don't have to be on a meal plan to enjoy exceptional food from Cornell Dining. Cash, Big Red Bucks, the Cornell Card and major credit cards are accepted at more than 20 cash/a la carte dining facilities.
